Virtuoso Unveils AI-Powered 'Collective Intelligence' Capability
Travel network Virtuoso has introduced a new strategic intelligence capability that leverages artificial intelligence to connect data, systems, and expertise across its global community. The initiative aims to turn thousands of interconnected data points into practical business intelligence for member agencies, travel advisors, and preferred partners.
The luxury travel network says it has accumulated vast amounts of proprietary knowledge over the years through advisor expertise, partner relationships, consumer insights, and institutional experience. However, much of this intelligence was previously dispersed across people, conversations, and systems, limiting its accessibility and use within the network.
According to Virtuoso Chairman and CEO Matthew D. Upchurch, ‘we’ve built a foundational digital capability that is ever-evolving with infinite possibilities.’ This new capability brings together expertise, insights, data, and relationships from within the Virtuoso community – advisors, member agencies, preferred partners – making it easier to access, combine, and act on collective knowledge.
Collective intelligence has always been at the heart of how this network operates, grounded in a shared commitment to excellence and collaboration. The new capability will allow the network to tap into this collective intelligence more effectively, enabling Virtuoso’s teams to learn from its use, identify gaps, and build solutions to close them.
The initiative is not just about launching an AI tool; rather, it positions itself as an intelligence foundation that will evolve as members, advisors, and partners engage with it. Future capabilities built on this foundation are expected to help users identify opportunities, make more informed business decisions, and tap into trusted intelligence from across the network.
Virtuoso’s own teams will also be able to use the technology to provide more precise support. The initiative aligns with Virtuoso’s long-held philosophy of automating predictable tasks so that they can humanize exceptional experiences.
The AI-powered capability sits within a broader technology strategy pursued by Virtuoso: adding value to existing platforms, nurturing an ecosystem of solution providers who serve the network in unique ways, and focusing internal technology efforts on creating exclusive value for the network itself.
According to President Brad Bourland, ‘AI is at the core of how it works, but what we’re really talking about is Virtuoso collective intelligence, powered by AI.’ This approach reflects Virtuoso’s broader emphasis on tools that complement individual businesses rather than imposing a standardized system across them.
The future of this organization is not a one-size-fits-all system; instead, it is a foundation built to enhance each member’s and advisor’s unique expression while unlocking the collective advantage that comes from the entire network moving as one. This approach allows Virtuoso to focus on creating value that only the network itself can produce.
The intelligence capability will continue expanding, with future applications focused on advisor success, partner collaboration, and new business opportunities across the network. The next stage will combine Virtuoso’s proprietary intelligence with vetted external market, economic, and behavioral data.
This integration aims to provide users with greater context around both what is happening within the Virtuoso ecosystem and outside forces influencing luxury travel. Attendees at 2026 Virtuoso Travel Week were among the first to hear about the initiative and previewed the capability, providing feedback that will inform its development.
