Cognida Bolsters AI-Native Accounting Platform with Automate Acquisition

Cognida has made a significant move in the enterprise software space by acquiring Automate, an AI platform that simplifies complex accounting and operational workflows. This acquisition marks a major expansion of Cognida’s strategy to combine consulting expertise with reusable software products.

The key areas where Automate shines are quote-to-cash and procure-to-pay operations. The platform has some impressive capabilities, including ASC 606 revenue accounting, contract review, deal-desk operations, order management, invoice and expense processing, purchase-order matching, and compliance. It also integrates seamlessly with ERP and CRM systems to ensure business data is processed according to established policies, rules, and internal controls.

The team behind Automate has a deep understanding of working with big public companies, private equity-backed businesses, and high-growth tech firms. In fact, the platform has already handled millions of business documents through production environments used by these types of organizations. This expertise will undoubtedly benefit Cognida’s customers as they look to implement AI-native solutions.

The acquisition gives Cognida a proven software platform, accounting and operations know-how, enterprise customer relationships, and additional proprietary technology. Automate will continue to operate as its own distinct product within Cognida, allowing the company to build on existing strengths while expanding its offerings.

Cognida’s familiarity with Automate dates back three years, during which time they worked directly with the platform. This prior experience has given them a deep understanding of the technology, customers, and implementation environment. The entire Automate team is joining Cognida, including Nick Tiscornia as general manager and Rama Pagadala as senior vice president of engineering.
