Code Becomes Write-Only and Disposable in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

·

A growing concern among software developers is that code generated by artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly difficult to read, understand, and modify. This phenomenon was highlighted by Phillip Mortimer in his talk at QCon London, where he argued that AI makes all code write-only. According to Mortimer, this means that the complexity of AI-generated code has reached a point where it’s too dense for humans to comprehend without extensive test cases.
