Anthropic Unveils Claude Duet, AI Agent for Professionals and Small Business Owners
Claude Duet is Anthropic’s latest AI agent designed specifically for professionals and small business owners. The new agent has launched as a research preview, allowing users to try it out before its full release. According to Anthropic, Claude Duet can be accessed through the web or as a standalone app on iOS and Android devices.
Claude Duet is built around the Claude Opus 5.5 model, which provides the foundation for its capabilities. The AI agent’s primary function is to assist users with their daily tasks by pulling in relevant information from connected apps and services. This includes sending briefs each morning highlighting important items across various platforms.
The AI agent can also take on more complex tasks such as building dashboards using multiple tools, creating financial or sales forecasts, prototyping, and even developing web applications. Additionally, Claude Duet has a virtual machine with a browser that enables it to complete work independently. However, before taking any significant action, the AI agent will message users for approval.
Claude Duet’s safety features include a dedicated classifier and safety system prompt designed to prevent sensitive information from being shared. This includes rejecting requests related to credit card numbers or other highly confidential data. Anthropic notes that Claude Duet is still in its early stages of development, which may result in occasional misreadings or miscalibrations. The AI agent also struggles with personal errands such as booking tickets.
Anthropic emphasizes the importance of user feedback and encourages users to provide input on their experiences with Claude Duet. To try out the new AI agent, interested parties can sign up for a waitlist; however, access is currently limited to Pro or Max subscribers in the US.
