Trimble Arc Agent Automates Manual Workflows for Global Supply Chains
A new artificial intelligence (AI) agent from Trimble aims to streamline manual processes in transportation and logistics organizations. The company has announced the launch of Trimble Arc Agent, a purpose-built AI tool designed to automate office work and eliminate tedious tasks.
The market is flooded with disconnected AI tools that require constant monitoring and maintenance. However, Trimble’s new agent breaks this cycle by introducing a single, high-performance AI powered by a skills catalog. According to Jonah McIntire, chief product and technology officer at Trimble, the industry has been waiting for predictable and explainable automation.
Trimble Arc Agent is offered as a subscription-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution that connects directly to existing transportation management systems (TMS) and third-party applications. By securely extracting and validating data from unstructured channels such as emails, PDFs, and spreadsheets, the agent allows teams to turn real-world inputs into actionable system-of-record data.
The AI tool is built with core agentic safety features that minimize the risk of AI hallucinations. This enables organizations to drive faster throughput and reduce operational costs without compromising service levels or margins. Additionally, Trimble Arc Agent includes enterprise-grade AI guardrails and human-in-the-loop controls to ensure that AI-driven decisions are explainable, auditable, and supportable.
Central to the agent’s functionality is the creation, discovery, and leveraging of skills. A catalog of ready-to-use skills can be combined with custom skill-building capabilities to help address an organization’s biggest challenges through simple natural language. For example, data entry skills provide an alternative to manual order entry and contract intake by automatically extracting field data and inputting it directly into systems of record.
Other skills include market insights that deliver full truckload (FTL) rate intelligence and market benchmarks before every negotiation; customer support that delivers contextual in-product troubleshooting using product documentation and support knowledge; and personal assistant, designed to streamline daily workflows by consolidating data from emails, calendars, messages, and project management tools into a single prioritized overview with just one prompt.
The agent’s skills catalog is constantly evolving as new capabilities are added. This allows organizations to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and customer needs without requiring significant IT resources or expertise.
