Murrelektronik Unveils Six New Automation Solutions at Automate 2026
Murrelektronik made a splash at the recent Automate 2026 event with six new automation solutions that aim to simplify system design while improving flexibility, performance, and scalability. These latest offerings support the industry’s shift towards modular, decentralized automation by reducing complexity across various aspects of machine building.
The new products on display included the IO-Link Control Box, a compact solution that combines configurable pushbuttons with an integrated emergency stop into one intelligent operator interface. This innovative design enables rapid integration into IO-Link systems for both new and existing machines, making it easier to implement safety features without compromising performance or reliability. By streamlining this process, manufacturers can save time and resources.
Murrelektronik also introduced its M12 Double-End Safety Cable, designed to make machine safety connections more visible, durable, and easy to deploy. The cable’s distinctive red jacket allows for quick identification during installation and maintenance, while a range of connector options supports diverse application requirements. This added visibility helps reduce errors and increases efficiency in the long run.
The company expanded its connectivity portfolio by debuting the ASi Power Tap Adapter, which delivers up to 63 VDC from AS-Interface flat cables to M12 L-coded devices. The lever-operated insulation piercing technology enables fast and tool-free installation while providing a secure connection suitable for demanding industrial environments. By leveraging this adapter, manufacturers can avoid costly rework and ensure reliable power delivery.
Murrelektronik’s next-generation IO-Link platform, pure.IO, was also on display. This compact and lightweight solution supports multiple protocols within a single multi-protocol platform, including PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and EtherCAT. Integrated diagnostics provide real-time insights into module status, improving system transparency, accelerating troubleshooting, and enhancing operational efficiency.
The product lineup was completed by Daisy Chain IO and the Aggregator Hub, two solutions designed to further simplify decentralized machine architectures. With Daisy Chain IO, multiple devices can be connected using a single cable for both power and data, reducing wiring complexity and supporting cabinet-free machine designs. The Aggregator Hub consolidates multiple sensor and actuator signals into a single IO-Link interface, minimizing wiring requirements and streamlining integration with higher-level control systems.
