Google Gemini Users Report Issues with AI Chatbot

Reports are emerging of problems with Google's AI-powered chatbot, Gemini. The issues have been logged on Downdetector.com, a website that tracks outages and errors across various services.

As of 10:36 a.m. ET on Wednesday, June 10, the site had recorded over 1,480 reports of difficulties with Google Gemini. This surge in complaints began shortly after 6 a.m., suggesting a widespread problem.

Some users have taken to social media to share their experiences, including receiving error messages such as 'Error Code 1076' and 'Error Code 1099'. One user reported that chats were failing to load altogether.

Gemini, which was launched in 2023, is an AI-powered conversational assistant available online and through a mobile app. It's integrated across various Google services, including Search, Workspace, One, and Cloud.

The chatbot uses generative AI technology to assist users with tasks like writing, brainstorming, researching, summarizing information, and generating images, according to its developers at Google.

Just two days ago, on Tuesday, June 8, Google released Gemini 3.5 Live Translate, an update for the live speech-to-speech translation feature. However, this latest development has not been without issues.

Google has yet to respond to a request for comment regarding the reported errors and their expected resolution time remains unknown.
