Georgia Nonprofit Launches Black-Centered AI Assistant Aisha, Challenging Mainstream Platforms

A new artificial intelligence platform has been launched by an Atlanta-based research and technology nonprofit called Onyx Impact. The platform, named Aisha, aims to provide a more inclusive and accurate source of information for Black communities, which have historically been marginalized by mainstream AI systems. According to Esosa Osa, the founder and CEO of Onyx Impact, the decision to create Aisha was driven by the realization that existing AI platforms were not only failing but actively harming Black communities.
