Expensify Launches MCP Tool for Seamless AI Integration

Expensify, the expense management and corporate card platform, has introduced a new integration tool called Expensify MCP. This innovation enables secure access to and analysis of Expensify data through natural language queries with popular AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude.

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) defines how AI agents connect to external services, and Expensify's MCP tool provides a standardized way for customers to easily link their AI clients to their expense data. This means users can ask questions like 'What did I spend on travel last month?' or 'Which expense reports need my approval?' and receive real-time answers from their Expensify account.

According to David Barrett, CEO of Expensify, the shift towards conversational interfaces in software is driving demand for seamless integration with AI agents. He noted that MCP is becoming a standard for how AI systems interact with external services, and Expensify aims to be accessible wherever its customers work.

Setting up Expensify MCP requires only a validated Expensify account, making it easily accessible to users who want to explore this new feature.
