Anthropic Expands Claude's Capabilities with Live Data Dashboards and Animation Tools
Claude, the AI assistant developed by Anthropic, has gained new capabilities that enable it to build live data dashboards and create editable animations. This expansion of its features comes as a beta release for paid Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. The company also made Claude Docs, Slides, and Design generally available on every plan, including Free.
Claude Dashboards allows users to connect to various data platforms and business apps, building live dashboards from plain-language questions. This feature is supported by sources such as Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, Snowflake, and connected business apps like Salesforce. Users can refine their dashboard in conversation, adding filters or switching to weekly views.
The dashboards start private and draw on the plan’s usage allowance. Anthropic has listed handoffs to several analytics tools, including Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog, Sigma, Looker, monday.com, and Tableau, with more integrations coming soon. Users can also export their dashboards as artifacts in Claude.
Claude Motion is another new feature that enables users to create editable, code-based animations from text, charts, shapes, and images. This tool exports the animation as an MP4 video file. Unlike other video-generation models, Claude Motion does not create realistic footage or people. Users can request changes in chat or edit directly while keeping the rest of the animation intact.
The company emphasizes that users can change a word, number, or timing value without affecting the rest of the animation. Longer or more complex animations use more of the plan’s allowance. Anthropic has also stated that work on Motion can continue in tools from Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI, and Runway, with Canva and Captions coming soon.
Anthropic’s push into data work has already caused a stir in the analytics market. In February, investors wiped billions off data analytics stocks after new Claude Cowork plug-ins arrived. The company is now expanding its offerings further by making Claude Docs, Slides, and Design generally available on every plan, including Free. Enterprise accounts will get these features by default on October 15.
